Consultations to gauge opinion concerning two proposed overground train stations at Old Oak Common start on Monday.
Transport for London (TfL) is consulting on the designs of two planned stations which will be situated in Hythe Road, Ealing, and Old Oak Common Lane, on the fringes of Harlesden.
Three public events are planned at the Nadi Park Royal in Old Oak Common Lane to give people the chance to ask questions and meet the project team.
Set to take place on Monday this week and November 6, they are due to run from 12.30pm to 7.30pm. Another planned on November 4 runs from 12.30pm to 4pm.
The regeneration, which straddles Brent, Hammersmith and Fulham and Ealing, is one of the largest development sites in the country.
The Mayor of London established the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) to coordinate and drive forward the regeneration of the area over the next 20 to 30 years.
Regeneration plans are underway to deliver a whole new centre and community which includes 25,500 new homes and 65,000 jobs.
The new station at Old Oak Common will open in 2026, providing fast connections to London and Heathrow via the new Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) and to the rest of the UK via the High Speed 2 (HS2) rail line.
Old Oak Common Lane station would be situated 350 metres from the HS2 and Elizabeth line station for easy interchanges. Existing railway embankment in Hythe Road could be removed to accommodate another station.
TfL said a Transport and Works Order will need to be secured to build and operate them if there is support to build the two stations, and funding is confirmed.
It is also likely the proposals would be examined at a public inquiry before being determined by the Secretary of State for Transport.
Alex Williams, TfL’s director for city planning, said: “These two potential new London Overground stations would improve connectivity to HS2 and support the regeneration at Old Oak and Park Royal. Delivering these would further build on the regeneration benefits of HS2 and the Elizabeth line and would help support new homes, jobs and opportunities for thousands of Londoners.”
