Hundreds of residents young and old attended the Brent Community Friendship and Fun Fair in Gladstone Park.

It was the first free to enter open air event of its kind hosted by the Brent Muslim Community Forum.

The all inclusive event included Asian, Irish, African and Arabic singers as well as live music from local bands.

Children enjoyed a magic show with magician Zako, got their faces painted and entered a prize draw in a fancy dress competition.

With stalls selling clothes, jewellery and a vast array of international foods, the event proved a big hit.

Cllr Ahmed Shahzad OBE, councillor for Mapesbury, said: “We wanted to extend the hand of friendship to all. It was a tiny festival for the whole community of Brent – all cultures, all religions, all ages attended. It was a great success.”
