A community centre in Queen’s Park is holding a free open day so residents can find out all of what’s on offer.
The Beethoven Centre in Third Avenue, is showcasing the services it has on offer this Thursday with plenty of fun activities for families and individuals from 11.30am-4pm.
There are funfair rides, a bucking bronco, a community art project to get involved in and also a chance to break a world record.
The centre holds regular activities and events for the community including a weekly drop in advice service giving free help with benefits or housing issues. It also hosts exercises classes, starting at £2 per class and a weekly greengrocer to encourage healthy eating.
There is also a chance to see what the various charities provide who run offices at subsidised rent from the centre.
With live DJ’s and a plant-your-own edible garden, the event is hosted by housing association A2Dominion.
Dele Ryder, A2Dominion’s partnership and fundraising manager, said: “The Beethoven Centre has gone from strength to strength since opening in 2001 and we now deliver a host of free and affordable activities to more than 47,000 visitors every year.
“We are proud of the positive difference the Beethoven Centre makes to the lives of local residents and we look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to our free event to help us celebrate the successes of our local community.”
