Crowds, community leaders and councillors headed down to the High Street and Craven Park Road on December 1for a festive fair organised by the Harlesden Festive Lights Cooperative (HFLC).

People can enjoyed entertainment, shopping opportunities and festive refreshments.

Young award winning performers from the St Michaels and All Angels Steel Orchestra got the party atmosphere started.

Dancers from Mahogany Carnival Masqueraders and gospel singing from V2V Gospel Choir also took part.

Leroy Simpson, chair of HFLC, said: “I wish to thank everyone who donated to the Harlesden Festive Lights and Christmas Tree and all who attended the Big Switch On and made it a positive event that sent out the message “We Love Where We Live 24/7.

“Again, HFLC has shown the community that working together is the only way forward and we must lead by example.

“Out of many we must become ‘One Community One Voice’ and share positive thoughts and actions.

“We will reap want we sow so let make Harlesden a great place to live, work, rest and play.”

The event was sponsored by Tropical Sun.
