A vicar in Kensal Green is opening up his church for a charitable afternoon of family fun organised by two of his parishioners.
Fr David Ackerman, vicar of St John The Evangelist church in Kilburn Lane, is hosting a sponsored “Toddle” from 2pm this Sunday in aid of children’s charity Barnardos.
The afternoon includes a sponsored walk for children under five, a bouncy castle, face painting, a tea party and cake sale.
The event is organised by Rieanna Lewis and Natelle Peters, whose daughter Shaylah, is a big Teletubby fan, who like Barnados, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Fr David said: “I am thrilled that St John’s can host the Big Toddle for the first time aid of Barnardos. The idea came from Natelle and Rhienna, who attend St John’s and they have worked very hard to make this event a great success, including asking local companies for donations. The response has been amazing.”
