A group of cyclists from Brent are undertaking a challenge in Gujarat India to raise money for a charity which helps underprivileged children.

The group of 25 men and women will cover 400km over three days from Junagadh to Bhuju in March in the hope of raising £100,000 for the Inner Joy Foundation.

The charity, based in Junagadh, provides boarding and education for orphaned and underprivileged girls in India and also cares for the elderly, sick and blind.

It’s not the first time the group have pedalled for pounds.

In March last year they raised more than £152,561.02 in aid of Urja Trust and AAWC of Mumbai.

The charity bike riders have raised more than £13,000 since the launch of their fundraising drive at the Brent Civic Centre on December 30, attended by Cllr Muhammed Butt, Brent Council leader, and mayor of Brent Cllr Bhogwanji Chohan.

The riders will be on the road from March 2-4.
