A man has been charged with a string of violent robberies against mainly elderly victims.

Lloyd Ellis, 29, of Station Road, Harlesden, was charged with four counts of robbery at Harrow Magistrates' Court yesterday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Harrow Crown Court on June 2.

All the robberies took place within half a mile of Queensbury Tube station.

Ellis was charged with robbery of a 61 year-old in Sherborne Gardens and a 60 year-old in Mollison Way on April 22.

He was also charged with robbery of a 31 year-old in Mollison Way on April 11 and robbery of a 61 year-old in Reynolds Drive on December 1, 2008.
