Queens Park Rangers were handed a home tie against west London rivals Brentford in the Carabao Cup last week.

But there was confusion during the second-round draw as the Bees were pulled out of the hat first, before a second draw to determine who would be the home side.

The R’s were announced as the away team despite the venue draw showing them as having home advantage.

But it was finally confirmed that Ian Holloway’s men would play the tie at Loftus Road, where they had defeated Northampton two nights earlier.

Yeni Ngbakoto’s goal in the 36th minute was enough to see off the League One side and they will take on their Championship rivals during the week of August 21.

A total of 25 ties will be held in southern and northern sections, before the seven Premier League clubs who are competing in European competitions join in the third round line-up.
