Pupils at Capital City Academy have no regrets staying for sixth form after achieving the grades they needed to go forward.
Matthew Anderson, pupil at Capital for Sixth Form (Capital 6) in Doyle Garden, bagged an A* in maths, A* in further maths, A in Physics and A in French.
Now off to Bristol to study maths, he said: “I knew I could do well if I stayed, so I did, and it worked!”
Headgirl Jemica Taylor received a full house of A grades in English Literature, Media and History.
The aspiring archaeologist is off to read history at Queen Mary’s.
Thais Silva Barbosa made the most of a work experience placement at Saatchi and Saatchi, and will now study advertising at Greenwich University.
She received three Bs in psychology, media and Portuguese and a C in Maths.
Shahad Jasim received a triple Distinction* in health & social Care in her BTEC exams as well as achieving an A in
Arabic and D in her psychology A-levels.
More than 94 percent of pupils attained A*-E grades with 64pc scoring A*-C, 33pc A*-B and 10pc cleared A*-A.
Marianne Jeanes, principal, said: “Well done to our Year 13 on some fantastic results. Students and staff have worked hard to ensure that students can still attain the highest grades whilst studying the new A-level and BTEC qualifications. The staff, governors and academy trust would like to congratulate all the students and offer them our best wishes for the future.”
