Crusaders will present 800-signature document to Hampstead and Kilburn MP Glenda Jackson

Campaigners fighting to save a nursery in Queen’s Park will present a petition to Westminster today (Thursday).

Mothers and parents who have collected a petition with more than 800 signatures in their efforts to save Hopscotch Nursery, will call on Glenda Jackson, MP for Hampstead and Kilburn to back their campaign.

In July, the Times revealed that the nursery in Chevening Road was threatened with closure as Brent Council planned to not renew the lease on their building.

Hopscotch is a registered charity and was set up by working mums in 1986.

Parents and nursery staff are asking people to join their campaign at www.savehopscotch.org.uk.

A spokesman for Brent Council said no decision had been taken yet on the future of the building.
