Campaigners hoping to bring a library in Cricklewood back to life are crowdfunding to make the dream happen.

Friends of Cricklewood Library are looking to raise £100,000 convert the building’s empty shell into a community hub for all to enjoy.

The group were devastated after the library in Olive Road, first built in 1929, was closed in 2011.

It was bought by Luxap LTD who have given the library back to the group.

The new 2,000 sq ft of space needs plumbing and electrics aswell as bookshelves and tables before they can allow the community in.

When completed the library will host workshops, clubs and activities including language classes, music and dance.

Sally Long, chair of FOCL, said: “After seven years we’ve won a rent free space in perpetuity. We need help kitting it out.”
