Campaign launched to tackle youth unemployment in Brent

Youngsters were given an insightful talk by two journalists to at the launch of a campaign which tackles youth unemployment in the Brent.
Times reporter Myron Jobson, 22, and BBC foreign news journalist Heidi Ghaicham, 27, met with enthusiastic youths to share top tips of running a success media campaign based on their experiences in the industry.
The duo also spoke about the problems facing young people seeking jobs, sharing their own experiences in securing their respective roles.
The event was organised by Brent Youth Parliament
Cllr Zaffar Van Kalwala, who represents the Stonebridge ward, and helps in the running of BYP, said: “It was great having Myron and Heidi here to talk to the young parliamentarians.
“Youth Unemployment is a huge issue and with the advice and support they received it will certainly boost their campaign and ensure it gets the focus it desperately needs.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Myron and Heidi for supporting the youth parliament. It’s great to see young people getting involved and helping our local community.”
