Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed that Jake Bidwell could be out for up to four months after dislocating his shoulder in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Burton Albion.

The £1.3million summer signing from Brentford, who missed just one game last season, faces a long lay-off with the full extent of the injury to be determined by a scan.

Speaking after the game Hasselbaink said: “It doesn’t look good for Jake.

“It looks like he’s dislocated his shoulder and we’re going to be without him for a while, which is very disappointing.”

Bidwell will miss Saturday’s west London derby at Fulham, as well as a reunion with the high-flying Bees next month.

Sebastian Polter came off the bench to salvage a point for QPR at the Pirelli Stadium after Jamie Ward had given the hosts the lead, with Hasselbaink - whose side are without a win in five Championship games - disappointed not to come away with all three points.

He added: “I think it’s two points dropped. I felt we deserved all three but it wasn’t to be tonight. The reaction to going a goal down was positive. That shows character.

“What frustrates me is that we are having to come from behind – and that needs to improve.”

He continued: “It was a bitty game really. I was pleased with how we pressed the game early on. The tempo was good, but it can be better.

“We battled well and created chances in the first half that we should have taken.

“I felt we were in control at 0-0 at half-time, so it’s disappointing.

“They made it difficult at times but we should have made more of our quality in the final third.”
