A builder who fly-tipped waste on a street in Harlesden and then produced fake documents to try and prove his innocence has been fined £1,000.

Eldimiur Pereira from Magma Builders in Acton Lane, Harlesden, dumped plaster board, wood, black bags and a toilet bowl on a pavement in Connaught Road.

Willesden Magistrates Court heard when he was traced by Brent Council and invited in for an interview he refused to do so instead taunting them to prosecute him if they had evidence.

During the court hearing Pereira produced documentation to show that he had employed a builder to do the works and to remove the waste.

However, Brent Council examined the documentation and found it to be fake and that no such builder existed.

Cllr Muhammed Butt, leader of Brent Council said: “Fly-tipping is extremely anti-social behaviour: it’s unsightly and not fair on other residents who get rid of their waste responsibly.

“We take fly-tipping offences very seriously in Brent and encourage anyone who sees items dumped in the streets to email the council on environmentandprotection @brent.gov.uk so we can investigate.”
