Teenagers treated to tour of the greenest building in the UK
Youngsters from the Brent Youth Parliament got a sneak preview of the borough’s brand new Civic Centre ahead of its opening.
They were given a tour of the main entrance lobby, library, customer service centre, outside terrace and staff floors, as well as the council chambers which they will use to hold youth parliament meetings when the centre opens. Jonathan Mensah, 18, said: “The Civic Centre is an incredible site with beautiful scenery. Young people are going to love this building. We are looking forward to holding more activities for young people and the Civic Centre will be a perfect environment for this. I am so proud to be a ‘Brentonian’ and it is a privilege to be here today.”
Roisin Healy, 14, said: “I am really pleased to have been one of the first young people to see the building. The Civic Centre will make Brent a better place and will open up opportunities for young people and everyone in general. It is very impressive and it has been an interesting visit.”
