Tributes are pouring in for a Brent raised entertainment lawyer who has died at the age of 38.

Richard Antwi, who lived in Kilburn, has been credited with establishing the musical career of a number of British artists he managed including Lethal Bizzle, Mr Hudson and Melissa Steel.

His company Full + Bless Management also ensured his clients knew their legal rights within the music industry.

An Oxford University graduate, he grew up on the Chalkhill Estate and attended Chalkhill Primary School, both in Wembley, before going on to Kingsbury High School, in Kingsbury.

According to reports he was once a parliamentary researcher for Labour peer Paul Boateng when he was the MP for Brent South.

Singer and actor Jeymes Samuel, who is known as The Bullitts, told the Times: “Richard Antwi was my best friend and one of the greatest people I’ve ever met. We’ve all lost our hero!”

Kwasi Antwi, a friend who coincidentally shares the same surname, added: “Richard was one of a kind, such an amazing man that contributed so much to life.

“Richard was a brother to everyone. Miss you and love you Richard.”

Tony Tagoe, another close friend, said: “Richard is more than a friend, he is my Brother.

“Someone I have respected since the first time we met at Oxford University in 1997 until now.

“My transition into an artist manager would not have been possible if not for him. He has touched so so many peoples lives and is an angel who will always be with us, never gone and his legacy remains.

“I love you my Brother.”

Lethal Bizzle, whose real name is Maxwell Ansah, wrote on his Instgram account: “I don’t think I’ve cried in long time.”

Paying tribute to Mr Antwi on social networking site Twitter, rapper Labrinth tweeted: “Death has been busy taking very special people from us, God rest his soul, one of the good guys #RichardAntwi”

Mr Antwi also co-founded record label Levels Entertainment alongside EMI Music Publishing and BBC 1xtra DJ Twin, who is also his friend.

The label’s signings include rapper Wretch 32.

Other artists including Marsha Ambrosius also paid tribute to Mr Antwi.

The Floetry singer and songwriter tweeted: “R.I.P Richard Antwi ... Prayers and love” and ITV newsreader Charlene White said: “British music’s lost one of the greats. Richard Antwi was a really lovely guy and his impact won’t be forgotten.”

The cause of Mr Antwi’s death has not been disclosed.
