Library campaigners marked the second anniversary of the closure of half of the borough’s branches with a torch relay yesterday.
For the second year running Brent SOS Libraries held the community event which saw campaigners running, cycling or walking between Barham and Preston Library while a “Light of Learning”.
The branches alongside Tokyngton, Neasden, Kensal Rise and Cricklewood were two axed by Brent Council in October 2011 to save £1milliom.
On the final leg of the Relay from Barham Library to Preston Library, the runners also stopped at the Barham Community Library in Sudbury Town station and at the Preston Community Library at 235 Preston Road, where there were poetry and other readings.
