Thank you for all your support throughout 2011

With Christmas around the corner and a New Year on the horizon it provides a time for us to reflect on what has been another eventful 12 months

The last yearhas seen many hard-hitting news stories in our borough; in what has become a very tough economic climate.

However, there have also been some extremely heart warming tales.

Of course, every one of these stories affects the very people we cater for, you the residents of Brent.

Whether they be personal stories involving inspirational members of the community or items with far wider implications such as cuts to public services every story has its implications.

With central government introducing cuts to public services it has been a very difficult year at times and the following 12 months could still throw up further problems.

However, we have been impressed by the community spirit shown by our readers who make it possible to fill our paper every week.

Campaigners fighting against the library closures, residents protesting for better transport routes to their homes and volunteers bringing joy to those less fortunate than us are just some of the examples of what has impressed us in 2011.

As a local paper it is our duty to ensure we provide the best news stories for you, to both inform and entertain you on life in Brent.

This time of year is the perfect time to relax, reflect and look forward to the year ahead, however it is important to stress that we must also remember those who are less fortunate than your self.

On behalf of everybody at the Brent & Kilburn Times we wish you a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.
