Any regular reader of my column in the Brent & Kilburn Times will know that I am deeply concerned over the provision of healthcare services in the London Borough of Brent.

In 2014 our A&E at Central Middlesex Hospital was closed forever on the promise that a 24-hour Urgent Care Centre will stand in its place.

Now, with an existing £51m deficit in North West London and a projected £61m overspend for this financial year alone, Brent Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are seeking to make further cuts and plan to remove the 24-hour Urgent Care Centre at Central Middlesex Hospital as well as Cricklewood Walk-In Centre.

That is why this month I took the radical step of addressing Brent Council calling on them to join my campaign to protect local health services.

A motion was put to the council proposing that wherever cuts to health services places patients at risk, we will work together to oppose them.

I am pleased to say that Brent Council answered my call and are backing my campaign save our 24-hour Urgent Care Centre at Central Middlesex Hospital. I am delighted to have the backing of Brent Council and will be working closely with local councillors to oppose cuts and protect Brent's NHS.

On October 25 I will be meeting directly with Brent CCG to tell them hands off our Urgent Care Centre! Please join with me in opposing further cuts to local health services by signing my petition on my website at dawnbutler.org.uk/central-middlesex-petition/.
