Dancing shoes are at the ready as town hall gears up for an exciting month of dancing.

Dubbed Brent Dance Month (BDM), the annual event, organised by council chiefs, kicks off with a youth dance competition in July 12, to be held in the Grand Hall at Brent Civic Centre.

Home grown dance group, First Impressions, who are based in the Chalkhill Community Centre in Chalkhill Road, Wembley. will be looking to impress at renowned international competition, Street Dance XXL & Global Championships, taking place in Wembley Arena in July 19-20.

Cllr James Denselow, Brent Council’s cabinet member for stronger communities said: ““Brent Dance Month is a great way for people to sample the wealth of dance on offer in the borough. We’re going to have many different classes and performances from capoeira to ballroom to argentine tango so please do come along and join the fun”

Brent Dance Month (BDM) is part of Big Dance, the UK’s biggest celebration of dance and dancing supported by the Foundation for Community Dance, Arts Council England and the Mayor of London.
