Brent Council is being urged to take inspiration from Westminster and tidy up a junction “lost” between the boroughs.
Edward Montgomery, of Maida Vale, wants to see Chippenham Gardens, at the junction of Shirland Road and Malvern Road on the border with Brent, looking a little more like the junction at nearby Lauderdale Road.
He has appealed to Brent to look into sprucing up the area, suggesting seven simple steps to making it look good again. These include more regular bin disposal, street sweeping, tending to the flower beds and lining Malvern Road with trees.
“For a small amount of money, it could be improved. Tree lining is actually not that expensive – about £2,000 for five trees,” he said. “I would like that to happen, and I know residents would.”
He added: “In fairness, Brent and Westminster are doing stuff there, but Chippenham Gardens just gets lost between the two.”
Brent Council failed to return our calls.
