Brent Council staff got backing for a charity coffee morning which raised £1,723.
The Macmillan Coffee Morning, a national event to raise funds and awareness of the support for cancer sufferers took place in the Brent Civic Centre, in Engineers Way, on Friday.
Visitors enjoyed cakes baked by council staff and entered a raffle with all proceeds going to the cancer charity.
Raj Soni-Alagh, a member of Brent Council’s human resources team who organised the event, said: “Brent MacMillan Coffee morning this year has been another great success.
“It has been wonderful that staff and the chief executive joined together to bake cakes, buy cakes and raffle tickets to raise money for a brilliant cause. There was a diverse range of cakes to suit all dietary requirements.
“We also had a health and well-being offer with Brent’s Active Lifestyles Team offering healthy recipe ideas and resources.”
