Driver’s full address was displayed on his parking permit
Council chiefs have apologised after they mistakenly printed a driver’s full address on his parking permit.
The security lapse on the permit belonging to Keith Menasse, 73, of Fernwood Avenue, Wembley, was spotted by his friend Laurie Oliver when he went to visit him.
Mr Oliver from Hemel Hempstead, told the Times he was worried that residents could become victims of car thieves as they would know where to strike.
He said: “My concern is other people and the idiot that thought of printing the addresses in the first place.
“There has got to be something seriously wrong with them. As soon as I saw it I didn’t believe what I was looking at.”
Mr Oliver said he contacted the police and Brent Council to voice his concerns the same day which resulted in the permit being replaced with one without Mr Menasse’s address.
A spokesman for Brent Council said: ““We listened to what people wanted and stopped including addresses on permits three months ago.
“Mr Menasse’s address was only included on his original permit due to a glitch in the system.
“We got a new permit to him as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.”
