Small and medium-sized firms in Brent will be hired for £60 million worth of construction work.

A council run networking event called Meet the Buyer will be held at Brent Civic Centre on July 11.

The event will enable traders from the borough to speak to large national companies about the upcoming projects.

Sub-contractors in plumbing, electrics, carpentry, fitting of finishes, glazing, flooring, security, and catering will all be needed to meet demand.

Brent’s regeneration chief Cllr Shama Tatler said the event was part of the town hall’s work to ensure regeneration benefits Brent firms.

They will be charged for the event, though.

Cllr Tatler told the Times: “I’d encourage any small business to attend and show the large companies that whatever their need, be it a job worth a few thousand pounds or several million, they need look no further than what’s already here.”
