Two local resident groups in Brent have received recognition for their efforts to make a difference to their local community.
NorthWestTwo Residents Association and The Adnan Jaffery Educational Trust (AJET) were recognized at the 3rd Atul Pathak Community Awards, a McDonald’s franchise held at the House of Commons.
NorthwestTWO RA was presented by Brent Central’s Dawn Butler MP for its work improving the quality of life in the community through its promotion of recycling, social events, and gardening.
Tulip Siddiq, Labour MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, presented AJET, an academic mentoring charity which seeks to improve academic performance and personal improvement for students on low grades.
The groups were presented with a certificate and a donation to use as they wish for their community by Atul Pathak, OBE, managing director of Appt Corporation, a large McDonald’s franchise.
The award also included a ‘partnership pledge’ with the Appt Corporation’s management team who can offer them support ranging from advice in marketing, or finance as well the use of their local McDonald’s over the next year.
