Dawn Butler is up for her third award from an equalities charity.
The Brent Central MP, who is shadow minister for women and equalities, has been nominated for the charity’s “people’s choice MP of the year” award. The foundation says it promotes and encourages the positive integration of under-represented communities into society.
Ms Butler won the similarly named “people’s choice Labour MP of the year” award in 2016 before winning the overall “MP of the year” award in 2017.
She is now in the running for a gong for her work with LGBT communities, the Windrush generation, and her fight for the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing community.
She said: “I was humbled to win the overall MP of the year award last year, and I’m grateful to be nominated again for my work.
“I do what I do out of a desire to build a fairer and more equal society.”
Last year 14 MPs won awards from the charity.
