Brent has been awarded £468,700 today to make key cycling improvements in the borough.
The money from the Mayor of London and Transport for London will allow the council to deliver measures to help increase the take up of cycling and make the borough more easily accessible and safe on two-wheels.
The sum will be given over three years.
Thousands of cycle parking spaces will also be installed across London.
Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, said; “Making some of this money available directly to the boroughs will help ensure that cycling developments reach communities across the capital.
“These local schemes will add to the innovative measures we’ve already announced, including enhanced cycling superhighways, urban ‘Quietways’ for more cautious cyclists, and turning some outer boroughs into mini-Hollands.”
