A 15-year-old boy has died after being hit by a bus while he was riding a hoverboard in Alperton.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene in Glacier Way at the junction of Ealing Road near Sainsbury’s, at around 6.30pm yesterday.

His next of kin have been informed and a post mortem will take place in due course.

Police have confirmed the teenager was riding a hoverboard at the time.

Cllr James Denselow, Brent Council’s lead member for stronger communities, told the Times: “This is a very tragic incident of a 15-year-old losing his life after colliding with a bus while riding a hoverboard. It’s a very sad day.”

Officers from the Serious Collision Unit are investigating the incident.
