Newman Catholic College had a day to remember yesterday as they received their best GCSE results to date.
There was a 14 percent increase in the number of students achieving at least five A* to C grades including maths and English, with several individual pupils excelling.
Luke Finch was one of the highest achievers, scoring two A*s, six As and two B grades, while Seth Joseph, pictured with his father, bagged one A*, three As and six Bs.
And headmaster Danny Coyle spoke of his pride in the students and teachers for the set of results:
“We are immensely proud of all our students this year. Their hard work has paid off,” he said.
“In addition it is important to thank our wonderful teachers. We look forward to the future with great anticipation.”
