BESSBOROUGH secured their survival in Division Three with a game in hand despite slipping to an 88 run defeat against Hornsey.

Sherrick Chavda's side were set 270 after the visitors declared after 48 overs with just four wickets down, Garfield Struthers doing much of the damage with a knock of 101.

But Bessborough struggled in reply and Oliver Ewe (4-35) put in a strong display to leave the hosts well short of their target.

The visitors were skittled for 182 after 50.4 overs, but bottom side Wycombe House's defeat against Uxbridge maintained the 13 point gap between the bottom two going into the final round of fixtures.

HARROW Town's season ended disappointingly early at the weekend as they were ruled out of the Division Three promotion race in their penultimate match.

Michael Jadunath's side declared on 228-9 after 56 overs, with Riswan Irshad making 53 not out, but Barnet Bs made 215-8 to reach their target for the winning draw.

Town's single point leaves them in fifth place, 10 points behind second placed Enfield and with two fewer wins on the board. Enfield would therefore finish ahead of Town even if Jadunath's side were to bridge the 10 point gap on Saturday.
