A beauty clinic with branches in Kilburn and Queen’s Park has been fined £22,000 for operating without the correct licence and using unlicensed workers to treat clients.

Lemoge in Salusbury Road and Kilburn High Road, carried out a range of treatments such as cosmetic and laser hair removal without having a mandatory special licence.

The clinic also allowed unlicensed practitioners to carry out treatments on their unsuspecting customers.

Last week at Willesden Magistrates’ Court, Lemoge Limited and Lemoge Beauty Clinic Limited, the companies behind both clinics, were fined £10,000 each for offences under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and London Local Authorities Act 1990.

Both companies must also pay £1,000 costs each.

Cllrr George Crane, Brent Council’s lead member for environment, said: “Lemoge beauty clinic was run where there was considerable potential for harm to members of the public.

“The fines that were received are a reflection of the gravity of the offences.”
