Police are appealing for information leading to the whereabouts of a brothel madam who is wanted on recall back to prison after she failed to pay fines totalling £1.3miliion.

Li Ying, from West Hampstead, was ordered to back the sum she made from running brothels in Brent, Camden, Wandsworth, Barnet, Harrow, Ealing and in the counties of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire over six years.

The confiscation order was granted last March but she has yet to pay back a penny.

The 48-year-old was jailed in July 2011 after being convicted of controlling prostitution, concealing criminal property and three counts of money laundering at Southwark Crown Court

She was sentenced to nine-and-a-half years but as some of the sentences were to run concurrently, it totalled five years.

Ying also uses a number of aliases including Ying Li, Ying Lewis, Li Lewis and Sun Qian.

She has links throughout London and the Home Counties.
