An historic haberdashery is expanding into one of London’s most iconic department stores.
William Gee, East London’s oldest haberdashery, will open a dedicated concession at Liberty on Regent Street this November, marking a major milestone as it celebrates 120 years in business.
Founded in 1906 by William Goldstein, an East European immigrant who later changed his name to Gee, the family-run business began with just £2 of stock and has grown into a key player in the UK textile industry.
Jeffrey Graham, director of William Gee, said: "Over 120 years, this business has survived by championing two words: Change and Adaptation.

Originally serving Hackney’s garment factories, William Gee now supplies independent designers, film and theatre costume departments, and a growing community of makers.
As Liberty’s exclusive haberdashery partner, William Gee will offer a curated range of its 9,000 products, including YKK zips, Gutermann threads, and specialist tailoring tools.

"Partnering with a legendary institution like Liberty is the perfect next chapter in our legacy."
The new store features an expanded selection of haberdashery supplies, sewing tools, and fashion design products, and now hosts professional sewing workshops and community events.
