Fraudsters posing as Home Affairs Officers are targeting homes in a doorstep scam.
The public is being warned by Your Local Safer Neighbourhood Team of individuals pretending to be officers from the Home Affairs Department who claim to be collecting identification details for an upcoming census.
Using documents and letterheads and equipment including a laptop and a biometric machine, the fraudsters request photo and fingerprint data from residents.

A spokesperson from Your Local Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Please be aware that there is a group of people going door to door pretending to be Home Affairs Officers.
"They have documents and letterheads from the Home Affairs Department and claim that they need to verify that everyone has a valid ID for the upcoming census.
"They rob houses.
"They are everywhere and they look neat."
Anyone who believes they have identified a scam or has been approached by fraudsters is advised to contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or online or call 101.
