A murder investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man has prompted police to release images of witnesses they urgently want to trace.
Malakai Ramson died after being stabbed on Ashmore Road in Kilburn at around 8.50pm on Tuesday (May 26), reports London Now.
Police have now published photographs showing dozens of people in the area around Ashbourne Road and Drayford Close at the time of the attack.
Detectives believe those pictured may have witnessed the incident and could hold vital information about what happened.
The images were captured on CCTV and show people reacting in a way that officers believe indicates they saw the incident unfold.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, who is leading the investigation, said: "I would like to reiterate that those pictured are believed to be witnesses.
"While I understand the challenges that come with talking to police, there are a range of ways to contact us, including completely anonymously.
"I urge people to put these complexities to one side and instead empathise with the grief Malakai's loved ones are navigating at this moment in time.
"The information held by eyewitnesses is vital and could ultimately take us a step closer to securing justice."
In the days following the stabbing, officers arrested two men.
A 21-year-old man remains in police custody on suspicion of murder.
A 42-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Anyone who is one of the individuals pictured, or who recognises someone in the photographs, is asked to call police urgently on 101, quoting reference 8418/26MAY.
Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 using the same reference.
Information can also be submitted through the Met Police's Major Incident Public Portal.
