Two large machetes have been seized at a barbershop in Kilburn amid a crackdown on crime in the area, reports London Now.
Police were called to Jerusalem’s Hair & Beauty Salon on Kilburn High Road last Thursday (April 9) around 4.20pm following reports of a sighting of a person with a machete.
It follows after two men were seen entering the store by an off-duty officer, with both arrested, reports our sister-site London Now.
Officers found two machetes more than 50cm after they were searched.
The arrests were part of an intensified approach on Operation Terminos, a cross-borough scheme to reduce violence, robbery and burglary against Brent, Barnet, Harrow, Camden and Westminster.
Action was taken between last Wednesday (April 8) to Saturday (April 11).
It resulted in 45 arrests as police found over a thousand of stolen phones, recovered a total of eight blades and seized drugs and illegal tobacco worth thousands.

Inspector Yu Zhang, who led the operation, said: “This crackdown has seen drugs, weapons and dangerous illegal e-bikes taken off the streets. We know these offences are ones that our communities care about, and they want to see officers taking robust action.
“We have done exactly that, this week-long operation will disrupt the criminal networks in Kilburn, ensuring the area is undoubtedly safer for the community.
“This builds on the work we have already been doing in the North West, with neighbourhood crime cut by 6.4 per cent over the last year.”
