A motorist says he is "p****d" off with a parking company that fined him even though he was legally parked - and now will not respond.

Sahajan Khan had parked in Harp Island Close, round the corner from his home in Braemar Avenue, Neasden, on August 2.

Most of the parking in the close is controlled by private operator One Parking Solutions, apart from a marked area managed by Brent Council.

Despite parking in the Brent Council bay and displaying his residents parking permit, Mr Khan was fined £60.

Mr Khan, who works for a building management company, says he checked with Brent Council, and also on the One Parking Solution website.

When he visited One Parking Solution's website, Mr Khan says he accidentally clicked on the button to appeal to the adjudicator and so initiated this.

But he did not yet have confirmation from Brent Council that it was a council space - this only arrived the day after the adjudicator declined his appeal.

Mr Khan says he has provided One Parking Solution with a copy of his permit, and photos of Brent Council’s road markings and the council’s signage, but says the company refuses to engage.

The adjudication system does not allow him to appeal again and his fine has risen from £60 to £170 and been passed it on to a debt collector.

Mr Khan believes the next step will be that his case goes to court and accrue more charges - even though he is confident he has done nothing wrong.

He said: "I'm really p***ed off. If you have a look on Trust Pilot you will see the amount of tickets this company has issued, or its app isn't working, all kinds of different things.

"The majority of people who take this company to court end up winning."

A spokesperson for Brent Council said: "One Parking Solution Ltd enforces parking on private streets and does not work for the council.

"We have been in contact with this company and we are advising them to refund Mr Khan, as we believe he was wrongly given a parking ticket on this occasion."

One Parking Solution has been contacted.
