Three men have been jailed for manslaughter after a teenage boy died from stab wounds close to a Tube station.

Yousef Chamint, 20, of Pitfield Way, Brent Park, was among those jailed over the death of Hani Solomon three years ago.

In a victim impact statement presented to court, Hani’s mum, Aster Hagos said her “life has ended” after the death of her 18-year-old son.

On February 11, 2021, Hani and two friends met with the three defendants in Novello Street outside Parsons Green Tube station.

Police say that a heated argument broke out between the two groups before Hani and his friends were chased into nearby Ackmar Road, where the 18-year-old was knifed.

On Friday (January 5), Ahmed Fatah, 21, of Fulham Road, Fulham was jailed for six years and further detained under hospital order at Isleworth Crown Court.

It comes after he pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Hani.

Abdallah Awil, 20, of Dairy Close, Parsons Green, and Chamint were both sentenced for manslaughter at the same court on March 13 last year.

Awil initially stood trial in November 2021 having been charged with murder and GBH and was acquitted.

The jury was hung on the alternative charge of manslaughter and a retrial was ordered at the end of 2022. On December 5 the jury returned a guilty verdict.

Awil was ultimately jailed for eight years, while Chamint, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter, was sentenced to three years and eleven months in prison.

Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Tunstall, who led the investigation, said: “This was a long investigation followed by complex court proceedings and I know that this has been a hellish ordeal for Hani’s loved ones.

“My thoughts are very much with them today and I sincerely hope that the conclusion of the legal process will allow them a measure of comfort in knowing that those responsible for Hani’s death will face the consequences of their actions.”

Ms Hagos, Hani’s mum, said “Hani exuded kindness, and filled the room with so much joy and happiness.

“His infectious laughter and smile have been taken from us. My life has changed forever.

“The world was once full of many opportunities, however now without my son, I feel like I have no future.

“I used to be a happy person and loved life but since Hani’s death I have become a recluse. I often cry for hours alone at home.

“Hani’s death has destroyed our family. I am filled with excruciating pain, sadness and loneliness.

“I wish that I could have been there for Hani when he took his last breath to comfort him when he was in agony.

“I was not afforded the chance to tell my son that I loved him just before he passed away.”
