Six people have been charged after a man was left fighting for his life in hospital following an alleged assault with a metal pole.

The alleged incident took place shortly before 4.15am on October 1 in Albert Embankment, on the south side of the river Thames near to Vauxhall Bridge.

A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from a serious head injury after he was allegedly assaulted with a metal pole.

A police spokesperson said today (October 18) that he remains in a life-threatening condition and that his family have been informed.

Two men from north London - Lewis Hysa, 21, of New York House, Stadium Way, Wembley and Mickyas Oumer, 22, of Bath Court, Bath Street, Islington – are among those charged with grievous bodily harm.

The four other people charged are:

  • Djabrail Haptakaev, 20, of Perham Road, Kensington
  • Joni Spahiu, 21, of Oakley House, 10 Electric Boulevard, Nine Elms
  • Alkomber Kojtasi, 23, of Winchester Street, Ealing
  • Arlinddo Kojtasi, 22, of Winchester Street, Ealing

All six are now set to appear at Inner London Crown Court in early November.
