Police will continue to investigate at Wembley Park today after a man died in a stabbing.

The Metropolitan Police says that an Olympic Way cordon will remain in place today (September 26), near to Wembley Stadium after a fatal stabbing on Sunday (September 24).

Emergency services were called just after 11pm that day to reports of a stabbing.

A man, in his mid-20s, was found with stab injuries and officers gave him CPR ahead of the arrival of paramedics, who continued to treat him before he was rushed to hospital.

He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Throughout yesterday a section of Olympic Way was cordoned off, with restricted access to the front of Novotel and the Costa shut completely.

The public were diverted around the path to the stadium, and instead had to walk through the Stadium Retail Park to be able to continue walking to Boxpark, the stadium and the London Designer Outlet.

A spokesperson for Costa said: “The Costa Coffee store remains closed at the request of the police as their investigation remains ongoing. Customers can visit their nearest Costa Coffee store in Wembley London Designer Outlet.”

Police said there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed, but formal identification has not yet been made. A post mortem examination will be held in due course.

Det Ch Insp Mark Rogers said the force understands the victim was “chased and attacked” by a group of suspects.
