A teenage boy who was pulled out of a canal with stab injuries has died.

Cordons have been in place near the Grand Union Canal, by Scrubs Lane, since yesterday (Sunday, June 25).

Emergency services were called just after 5.45pm to reports of a male in the canal suffering a stab injury.

A boy, 17, was pulled from the water. Despite the best efforts of emergency services he was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.10pm.

The Metropolitan Police say no arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

This morning (June 26), road closures remain in Scrubs Lane both ways, from North Pole Road to Hythe Road in Willesden.

There is also congestion to Harrow Road, into town towards Kensal Green.
