A man has been arrested after a stabbing that led to a road being closed for more than a day.

Police put up a cordon in Church Road, Harlesden, after being called to a disturbance at 7pm on Friday (June 16).

Officers found a man, believed to be in his 40s, suffering from stab injuries.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was said to be not life-threatening or life-changing, Scotland Yard said.

In an update, the Met said that one man, 50, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

A spokesperson said: “He has been bailed pending further enquiries.”

The Met have also clarified that the place of the stabbing was Greater London Cemetery - after previous reports of it being at the neighbouring St Mary's Churchyard.

Throughout Saturday, the road was closed southbound between Neasden Lane and Mayo Road and buses were diverted.
