Three men have been jailed for a total of 22 years after police found drugs worth £200,000 in a car.

Jade Broadbelt, 33, of Pinemartin Close, Cricklewood, and Dwayne Campbell, 44, of Regina Road, Norwood, were inside the car when it was searched by officers in Ealing.

They were both arrested after two kilograms of heroin with an estimated street value of £200,000 and £4,000 in cash were found inside what police called a “sophisticated hydraulic hide”.

Officers had identified the two men after an investigation into drug supply in north London.

Further police enquiries linked the pair to another man, Demetri Fairweather, 27, of Ealing Road, Wembley.

One kilogram of cannabis and a further £120,000 in cash were found after his home was searched.

All three men were found guilty at Harrow Crown Court on May 5, and sentenced at the same court last Friday (June 9).

Det Con Leigh Dooley, who led the investigation, said: “Thanks to the perceptiveness of officers, these three men have been prevented from spreading harmful substances around the city, if not further afield, and have not been allowed to benefit from the harm they are causing others.

“We thank the court for the sentences given to these three men and hope that over the coming years Broadbelt, Fairweather and Campbell reflect on their crimes and realise the damage they have done to so many.”

The sentences were as follows:

  • Jade Broadbelt was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, namely heroin, and possession of criminal property
  • Demetri Fairweather was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs
  • Dwayne Campbell was sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, namely heroin, and two counts of possessing criminal property
