A road was closed after a car flipped during rush hour.

Police were called to reports of an overturned car in East Lane, North Wembley, at 7.31am this morning (May 4).

Pictures of the incident showed a car on its side in the road with a smashed windscreen and bumper.

The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were all pictured in the street, which has been the site of several previous crashes.

Police said that the driver of the car was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.

Parts of East Lane near The Fairway were closed this morning while emergency services dealt with the incident.

This caused the diversion of bus routes 245 and 483.
