With Easter just around the corner, Brent and Harrow residents should be aware of changes to their bin collections over the holiday period.

Easter Sunday will fall on April 9 this year, a week earlier than in 2022.

The Easter bank holidays, scheduled on Good Friday, April 7 and Easter Monday, April 10, will mean changes to bin collections throughout the boroughs.

Local authorities have advised residents to check their bin collection days to ensure their rubbish gets taken away. Listed below are the changes to the bin collection schedule made by Brent Council and Harrow Council this Easter.

Brent

  • Friday, April 7 – General waste will still be collected on the bank holiday but food and recycling will be collected the following day (Saturday, April 8)
  • Mon April 10 – General waste will still be collected on the bank holiday but food and recycling will be collected the following day (Tuesday, April 11)
  • All food and recycling collections will happen the next day of the week following the Monday bank holiday (April 10 to April 15). Tuesday collections will be on Wednesday, Wednesday collections on Thursday, Thursday collections on Friday, and Friday collections on Saturday.

Harrow

The council has advised residents that, due to the different schedules during the Easter period, it may mean that bins will need to be out on both days until collected.

  • Friday, April 7: Bank holiday, no collections taking place. Collections instead take place Saturday, 8 April
  • Monday, April 10: Bank holiday, no collections taking place. Leave bins out on Tuesday
  • Tuesday, April 11: Leave bins out Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Wednesday, April 12: Leave bins out Wednesday and Thursday
  • Thursday, April 13: Leave bins out Thursday and Friday
  • Friday, April, 14: Leave bins out Friday and Saturday

Residents can enter their postcode on the council website to find out exactly when the bins for their road will be collected.
