A school remains closed for a second day after a building was damaged in a fire.

Preston Manor High School, in Carlton Avenue East, Wembley, has informed parents and students that the upper school site is closed today (January 20).

Remote learning sessions will take place as an alternative.

The Preston Manor Music Academy will be closed tomorrow (January 23), but the lower school remains open as normal.

Footage shows much of the lobby and reception at the school blackened and destroyed by a fire that spread on Wednesday (January 18).

Around 20 people left the school building at around 8pm before firefighters arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

Most of the lobby and reception area were damaged, the London Fire Brigade has said.

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze and it was under control by 9.25pm.

The fire is believed to have been accidental.

Preston Manor High School was contacted for further comment.
