The new pitch will play host to intra school tournaments
The FA’s chairman David Bernstein scored a victory with sports lovers as he opened a new football pitch in the shadow of Wembley Stadium, at Ark Academy.
Mr Bernstein impressed coaches with a neat dribble around some training cones as he joined pupils for a training session at the new artificial grass pitch at the school in Forty Avenue, Wembley.
The pitch, which was made possible thanks to a Football Foundation grant of 229,136, will be used by students and play host to intra school tournaments.
Mr Bernstein said: “The ARK Academy is a truly wonderful complex. I know that these facilities will provide a first class environment for children and young adults to fulfil their potential.”
