Building was demolished earlier this month
A dilapidated homeless shelter has been knocked down to make way for a modern family friendly hostel.
Conway House, in Quex Road, Kilburn, a refuge for street sleepers since 1974, was demolished early this month.
The new hostel, due for completion in late 2012, will contain single bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and family sized homes.
The project, a partnership between Irish Centre Housing and Camden Council, helps the homeless get into permanent housing.
Councillor Julian Fulbrook, Camden Council Cabinet member for Housing said: “The new Conway House will be a great improvement.”
