The conservation area threw the party to celebrate its 85th anniversary
A community came together to celebrate its 85th anniversary at a funday in Northwick Park playing fields.
The event was organised by residents from the Sudbury Court estate, a network of streets around Watford Road, East Lane and Sudbury Court Drive
The estate, which is a conservation area, was developed for housing by Captain Edward George Spencer-Churchill, first cousin of Winston Churchill, and is known for its mock-Tudor design.
Singers from St Geroge’s Primary School in Sudbury Hill, Sudbury, wowed the crowds with their voices and Irish dancing, while cadets from the police force impressed with a demonstration.
Funfair rides, dog shows, face painting, music and food were also laid on for the occasion.
Jo Baylock, one of the residents who organised the day, said: “We haven’t done this before and it was a lot of work, but definitely worth it.
“Everyone had a really great time and it brought the community together which was the whole purpose of the day.
