Judge rules in favour of Brent Council’s decision to axe half the borough’s reading rooms
Campaigners battling to save six libraries from closing in Brent have lost their High Court case.
A judicial review into whether Brent Council can axe half of the borough’s libraries has ruled in favour of the local authority.
Crusaders have been battling to save the reading rooms in Barham Park, Cricklewood, Kensal Rise, Neasden, Preston and Tokyngton since the council announced they faced the chop in a 1m cost-cutting measure.
They took the case to the Royal Courts of Justice in July.
More to come.
